Sometimes the best jobs are the ones where family shows up to help. There's something different about working alongside people you care about - the work just feels more meaningful, and honestly, it tends to get done better too.

Getting new grass established isn't as simple as throwing seed down and hoping for the best. It starts with the soil. Proper grading is what sets everything else up - without it, water pools, seed washes away, and you end up with an uneven mess. We take that step seriously every time.

From there, it's about doing things in the right order. Seed goes down with care, starter fertilizer gets worked in to give those new roots something to grab onto, and then straw goes over the top. That straw layer is doing more than it looks like - it holds moisture in, protects the seed from drying out, and keeps things from shifting while germination gets going.

Fall is actually one of the better times of year to seed a lawn. Cooler temps, more moisture, and less competition from weeds means new grass has a real shot at rooting in strong before winter. If your yard has bare spots, thin areas, or just needs a full fresh start - this is the window to do it.
